Soon they realize that they can’t stay apart and pick up right where they left off. When she was a child, her father walked out on her and her five siblings, so Ethan leaving her was like a slap in the face. Though Lilah has never truly gotten over her high school sweetheart (despite a failed marriage – or rather causing her marriage to fail), she is incredibly hesitant to let Ethan into her life again for the fear that he would walk out of it. Eight years later, Ethan comes back to their town in Minnesota after being transferred to that hockey team and his father suffers a massive stroke. Unfortunately, when Ethan started college and was then drafted into the NHL while Lilah was finishing her high school career, they broke up. Ethan Kase and Lilah Smith were best friends throughout childhood and later became lovers in high school. The Go od Luck Charm by Helena Hunting was a cute story about two people that get a second chance at love with one another. ![]()
